The dhcp-lease-list command

Lists the leases handed out by the DHCP server: MAC, IP and hostname.

Syntax

dhcp-lease-list

Copy-ready examples

$ sudo systemctl start isc-dhcp-serverServer running
$ sudo dhclient eth0Ask for an IP
$ dhcp-lease-listSee the leases

You can try them in the browser terminal: it does not touch your computer.

Typical mistakes

  • You can also read the raw file with cat /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases.
