The mkfifo command
Creates a named pipe (FIFO): a special file through which two programs exchange data.
Syntax
mkfifo <nombre...>Copy-ready examples
$ mkfifo tuberiaCreate the pipeYou can try them in the browser terminal: it does not touch your computer.
Typical mistakes
- If you write to a FIFO with nobody reading, the command waits.

How is it different from |?
The bar is a temporary pipe; mkfifo creates one that exists as a file.
