The pushd command

Saves the current folder on a stack and moves to another. Perfect to go and come back.

Syntax

pushd <directorio>

Copy-ready examples

$ mkdir -p proyectosCreate folder
$ pushd proyectosEnter saving the previous
$ popdGo back

You can try them in the browser terminal: it does not touch your computer.

Typical mistakes

  • Each pushd stacks the folder; popd unstacks it and returns you there.
