The dpkg-reconfigure command

Reconfigures an already installed package (language, timezone, etc.).

Syntax

sudo dpkg-reconfigure <paquete>

Copy-ready examples

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdataReconfigure timezone

You can try them in the browser terminal: it does not touch your computer.

Typical mistakes

  • Useful when a package was left half-configured after an install.
