The lvremove command

Removes a logical volume and frees its space in the group.

Syntax

sudo lvremove /dev/<grupo>/<lv>

Copy-ready examples

$ sudo pvcreate /dev/sdbPV
$ sudo vgcreate datos /dev/sdbVG
$ sudo lvcreate -L 2G -n web datosLV
$ sudo lvremove /dev/datos/webRemove

Typical mistakes

  • Unmount the volume before removing it.
