The vgextend command

Extends a volume group by adding more physical disks.

Syntax

sudo vgextend <grupo> <dispositivo...>

Copy-ready examples

$ sudo pvcreate /dev/sdb /dev/sdcPrepare PVs
$ sudo vgcreate datos /dev/sdbCreate VG
$ sudo vgextend datos /dev/sdcExtend

  • Extending the VG lets you create or grow logical volumes.
